Paul Corfield - The Setting Sun

This painting revisits one of my favourite views from Studland, Dorset, just outside of Poole Harbour. The foreground has come from my imagination but the white chalk cliffs are somewhat how they appear in real life. The cliffs, known as Ballard Down, are quite local to me, only about six miles away and have appeared in many of my paintings now. They separate Studland Bay from Swanage Bay, and having grown up with close connections to Swanage I have memories of this area going back to my earliest childhood.
